the handlin family
one of my favorite sessions of this year…. and it was from this summer- somehow just getting around to blogging it. not because i forgot it… no, not at all. i almost had too many favorites and couldn’t decide… the funny thing abou this session is alison contacted me she had so many questions, i was a bit nervous about what to expect. i sort of thought she was gonna be high maintenance. i can say that now because it couldn’t have been further from the truth. she, along with her entire family was awesome. true blue… awesomeness. i guess the reason i don’t like to answer alot of ‘pre photoshoot’ questions… is because i don’t want to be thinking during our session about those questions. i really love when stuff happens organically. (did i just type that?… i’m so hip!).. but seriously, i really want things to just unfold as they should. and that’s what we did. we just sort of unfolded under the summer sky… and the guitar? god. i loved those pics. because it’s such a part of their family life. it wasn’t just a cute prop. it was a piece of them. so… better late than never. enjoy the handlin family.
the blair family {a fall mini session}
early this fall, in the early morning…. i met the blair family. elena is a photographer & asked me to shoot her family. always so fun to shoot another photographer’s family… and this one was no exception. so easy to quickly capture them- they were at ease in front of the camera and totally forgot about me. enjoy
the hoge family {a fall mini session}
the sweetest little girl with the brightest blue eyes ever. so fun for me to see sydney again. i shot her while she was still cooking away inside her mama, and then as a newborn, and now at 8 months. amidst a rainy day… we found a dry spell and found some fall color… just before the wind blew it all away. enjoy!

smitten with their boy
and so was i. really taken by him. i loved him. is that wierd? i don’t care. it’s true. i loved how unbelievably happy he was. and he was so fun. so so fun. me having a baby changed me. completely. i get it. i ‘get’ what this picture is about. i get their total happiness. i get their total smitteness. i get what it means to be a family. i get how this little person makes it all worth it. this is reed and his mom and his mama… oh and barley too. can’t wait to show you more. xo

drew, 6 months
something about 6 month old boys… i’ve been lucky enough to shoot a lot of them these days, and yes… i’m completely biased… but gosh. i love boys and their momma’s. the cutest. i shot the walder family when drew was 3 months, and they ended up purchasing one of my year long packages… which i love, because i get to watch these little people grow. my job is super easy when there is lovely light and a gorgeous family as my subject’s. how cute is my suitcase? bennett always loads up my props as i’m headed out the door, and i was just about to drive away, when i remembered this suitcase. it was a great find at an eddie bauer sample sale 3 years ago- they use to used it at their home store back in the day… & it was total luck that the walder family had on outfits that matched perfectly. it was kismet. totally meant to be! enjoy
mother + daughter
some things are worth waiting for… and this little shoot has taken us a year plus to do. so glad lisa stuck with me… and so happy we did this. i loved from the get- go, the idea of a mother daughter shoot. and so fun when they came with their bag of outfit changes… leggings, flowy skirts, bangles, boots, wrap sweathers…. loved it all! and to think… lisa had the nerve to tell me she didn’t know what to do in front of the camera.. she’s gorgeous! and the way she looks at hannah? THE BEST. hands down. these two together make quite a pair. both are so lucky to have the other. enjoy

the york boys
naomi set this session up as a mini session for her little man’s 6 month pics, but i thought the boys together was too cute! man. do i love little boys. jacob is just days older than luke. he’s a total doll face. and he was so sweet. i could have just loved on him. it was fruheezing this day. pink little noses and cheeks. the best. enjoy!
