you’re about to get a story. sorry if you just like pictures, but i need words for these. these aren’t just pictures of friends. these are family. or the closest one can get to family without being bound by blood. you see, marnae and i have known each other since we were barely walking. our moms are the best of the best of the best of friends. and so that makes marnae my family. and then came along matt and he and my bennett formed a bond quicker than most, and now as adults, marnae and i aren’t only like family, but we are great friends. and our husbands are great friends. we were there for eachother’s proposals, by eachother’s sides for eachother’s weddings… and now i get to be by her side as she becomes a mom for the first time. within the last two years she and i have watched our friends around us start to have families, and she and i have laughed how it will be us soon & how lucky we will be because our mom’s are gonna want our kiddos all the time. and we’ve talked about how in the summer we can take them down to the civic club to play at the beach and how fun lake chelan will be with little babies and how we can still go to dave at the gorge, just maybe not for 3 nights. i like that i have memories with marnae beginning before i even knew i was forming memories. and how i remember being barely 5 yrs. old at lake chelan together- and now, practically 25 years later… we are here.. watching her become a mom. i am stunned more often now by life. fully beginning to understand with certainty the complete awesomeness of it. the pure magic and beauty of it. and always reminded how important it is to share it with those you call family.
matt and marnae welcomed ryder matthew lord into this world today and i got to see him only hours old. seeing my friend become a mom for the first time was really something. and i feel so lucky to be a part of it all. more to come of the little mister, but for now here are m & m before the little mister.
